Fort Worth Real Estate Market Trends: Why DFW’s Growth Continues to Attract Attention

There’s a lot to love about living in the DFW area, and Fort Worth just gave us another reason to celebrate.

Travel + Leisure has ranked Fort Worth No. 6 among America’s best cities in its 2026 World’s Best Awards, making it the highest-ranked city in Texas. More than 661,000 votes were cast in this year’s awards, highlighting the destinations, hotels, and experiences travelers loved most.

For those of us who spend time in and around Fort Worth, the recognition probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Fort Worth has managed to grow while holding onto the character that makes it distinctly Fort Worth - from its Western heritage and historic Stockyards to its museums, restaurants, entertainment venues, and growing collection of luxury destinations.

The city has also seen significant investment in recent years, with destinations such as Dickies Arena, Mule Alley, and new hotels, restaurants, and developments helping put Fort Worth on the national map. Continued development and investment are also important factors to watch when looking at local real estate market trends across North Texas.

And it’s not just visitors who benefit. A thriving city with great dining, entertainment, culture, and amenities adds to the overall lifestyle of the entire Dallas–Fort Worth housing market. As communities grow and attract new businesses, residents, and visitors, local housing demand and neighborhood development can continue to evolve alongside them.

As a Mansfield and DFW real estate team, we love seeing our neighboring communities continue to grow and attract attention while maintaining the local character that makes North Texas such a great place to call home.

Whether you're following U.S. housing market updates, home price trends, housing inventory levels, or mortgage rate trends, it's important to remember that national real estate conditions don't always tell the whole story. Local factors such as employment, development, amenities, and population growth can all influence the North Texas real estate market.

Want to see what earned Fort Worth its No. 6 ranking? PaperCity takes a closer look at the hotels, restaurants, developments, events, and people helping shape the city’s continued momentum.
